But only qualitative education has the power to change the world and the quality of education depends on teachers’ competence. As the National Curriculum Framework of India, (2023) says, competent teachers are very crucial for improving the quality of school education.  Therefore, it has become necessary to pay special attention to teachers’ competence. India has emerged as a fast-emerging economy on the world platform and will be the third-largest economy in the world by 2030 in terms of GDP (IMF's October World Economic Outlook, 2019). To fulfil the nation’s requirements and to enable the child according to the needs of the 21st century, education requires competent teachers who prepare learners as per social demands. The research aimed to assess the teaching competencies of teachers, teaching entrepreneurial mindset curriculum (EMC) at the secondary schools of the Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi. The researcher also investigated whether these competencies differ due to the appointment subject and gender. 300 secondary school teachers were selected through random sampling of which 118 were male and 182 were female. The researcher used a self-rating questionnaire (ECS) for the data collection. Descriptive statistics was used for data analysis. The findings reveal that 40% of teachers showed average competency scores in 11 competencies. Whereas only 36% of teachers scored average proficiency level in problem-solving competency & use of influence strategy competency.

The research recommended competency-based teacher training programs for effective entrepreneurial education. The research also highlighted the need for professional development of teachers.
