INVESTIGATING PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH ENGLISH LITERATURE TEACHING AND LEARNING
Abstract
The research aims to investigate the enduring significance of English literature in the educational curricula of numerous countries at both the primary and secondary levels. Given the emergence of technology and other variables, the future impact of this remains uncertain. An investigation was conducted to examine the perspectives of educators regarding the significance of English literature in education. The results corroborate the notion that, despite technological progress, educators maintain the belief that English literature is a crucial component of the elementary and secondary school syllabus. Literature can be unequivocally acknowledged as a pedagogical instrument. Nevertheless, the efficacy of literature in education is not always apparent or readily comprehensible. This paper examines the ways in which literature can be beneficial for language learners and suggests strategies to overcome its limitations for more successful results in teaching English as a second language (ESL).
